THOSE THEORIES MATCH (for me) — November 17, 2009

THOSE THEORIES MATCH (for me)

Today (in class) i got to find a way to reconcile the theory of creation with that of science — that life is a phenomenon of the second generation of stars. im fond of science, but im His biggest fan.

I’m going to cite some parts where i made a connection between the two theories:

Day 1 – God created Earth, space, time and light.
(i think this is the event which scientists call as the Big bang theory).

Day 2 – God created the atmosphere.
(after billions of years, unstable matter in space condensed and produced the simplest elements, Hydrogen and Helium — now forming the atmosphere)

Day 4 – God created the sun, moon, and stars.
(the simplest elements H and He went through many thermonuclear reactions which produced heavier elements that eventually formed Large Stars and then the Novas and Supernovas)

Day 6 – God created man.
(second generation of stars were formed, where elements essential to sustain life are present, and the scientists believed that life started to bloom from here).

——————————————————————————–
It took billions of years from the Big bang theory up to the formation of the second generation of stars. And according to the Gap theory, there are billions of years between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2. So i think there is really reconciliation here, right?

Another thing is the day-age theory. Each of the six days of creation could represent more than an actual day, as we know according to Einstein’s general theory of relativity, time is relative. A day to God could mean a thousand years to us.

As i always say to my students whenever they ask me about all these, i’m a scientist but i have a strong faith in God and i believe in the theory of creation. I believe that even science was made by God. That He gave us a brilliant mind so we could discover his works — even how all of us and everything around us began.

I don’t know. maybe i’m a little weird. hmm…i still hope i made sense here. There is definitely nothing wrong with the theories of science, but i just want to believe those which i think is so much more worthy of believing.
